For most boys, there's nothing unusual about playing soccer or going for swimming lessons, but for Anthony "AJ" Myers, it's a dream come true which would never have been possible without a life-saving liver transplant.
The 10-year-old from Nollamara received a new liver late last year after his first donated liver started deteriorating.
He received a new liver at age three after his organ failed, turning his skin and eyes yellow as it struggled to break down toxins and wastes in his bloodstream.
A cocktail of 22 tablets and liquid medicines helped AJ cope with his liver until a few years ago when doctors broke the news that his donor liver was deteriorating and he needed a new one. His family was endured an agonising 21-month wait before he received a new liver.
