How would you feel if a loved one’s life hinged on receiving an organ transplant and none was available?
Becoming an organ and/tissue donor is a selfless act that could save the life of someone’s child, spouse, sibling or parent, says Tubac resident Leslie Richter.
Richter knows that first-hand. Her own sister, Michelle Teran, donated more than 5 feet of her small intestine so Richter could receive a life-saving transplant in April 2009.
“I’d had pain. My bowel had twisted and it died,” said Richter, 47.
