Organ Recipient Shares His Story of Survival

KXII 12 News, Oklahoma

ARDMORE, OK - An Ardmore optometrist is especially thankful to be with his family this thanksgiving. Sara Humphrey brings us his inspirational story of survival.

There was a time when David Hobbs didn't think he would live to see another Thanksgiving.

The Ardmore optometrist had been on the waiting list for a liver for three years and Hobbs' son Jeff said his father was down to 100 lbs and was wasting away.

"There was help from all over the state and the country and I think without him even knowing it there was a billboard put on I-35 kinda giving awareness to him needing a liver," Jeff said. "He is adored by tons of people and he deserves to be."
