A Dauphin County girl who was killed in an accident in 2006 will be honored in the 2012 Rose Parade ‘donate life’ float.
14-year-old Melissa Yarosh died from her injuries in the crash and was an organ donor. Her story was selected among thousands to represent Central PA, Gift of Life Donor program and the Pinnacle Health Foundation in the Rose Parade float.
"I have a cousin that lives in Pasadena who's been involved with the parade,” explained Melissa’s mother, Barbara Yarosh. “She actually knows Brian Stewart, who is the Gift of Life Coordinator in Pasadena."
A portrait of Melissa's face made out of flowers will be part of the Donate Life float.
