Indiana organ recipient in Tournament of Roses parade

13 WTHR

INDIANAPOLIS -Two Indiana women who have been impacted by life-saving organ donations are headed to California to participate in the annual Tournament of Roses Parade.

Lynn Livingston was diagnosed with a rare liver disease and received a liver transplant in 2008. One of her friends is Dana House, whose daughter Jordan became an organ donor after she died.

The two women will place roses on a parade float dedicated to Hoosiers who've made the life-saving choice. Livingston will ride on the float representing all Indiana families who've either donated or received an organ or tissue.

"If you take an organ to live, you should be willing to give when you're life in ending - is my motto," said Livingston.

"To be in California and watch Jordan's face go by, it's an honor. She was so wise beyond her years and she was able to save people's lives. It's a very powerful thing," said House.

The Donate Life Float will appear at the Rose Parade on Monday, January 2nd.
