YORK, YORK COUNTY— A California man's cross-country mission to raise awareness of organ donation has brought him through Central Pennsylvania.
Mike Titttinger has walked more than 3,000 miles in memory of his late wife, Deanna, who died ten years ago after an unsuccessful heart transplant.
“She was a very strong-willed person, very courageous and this walk is kind of my attempt to live up to the example that she set," Tittinger said.
Tittinger started his journey in San Francisco on June 18th, with the goal of raising $25,000 for the Onny and Oboe Scholarship Fund. Tittinger and his second wife started the fund to offer heart transplant recipients and their families monetary help to start fresh after such difficult times.
