When it comes to organ donation, we really lag behind. New South Wales has the lowest organ donation rate in Australia, and Australia compares very poorly with other countries.
This week the NSW government announced it wants to rewrite the organ donation rules.
One issue in the government's sights is the fact that even if you tick the organ donor box on your driver's licence, your family can overrule that decision - and in almost 50% of cases they do.
Ronwyn Davies from Wodonga knows the importance of saying yes. Without a liver transplant in 2005 she wouldn't be alive today. Now she's back at work and told Joseph Thomsen it's "absolutely unbelievable".
