WIVT/WBGH ABC 34 News, Binghamton, NY

A Greater Binghamton woman whose son was an organ donor will ride on a float commemorating organ donation in the 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif.

MaryEllen Decker was chosen by the Center for Donation and Transplant in Albany to join 27 other donor family members from across the country in honoring their loved ones by appearing on “. . . One More Day,” the float created by the national Donate Life organization.

The Center for Donation and Transplant will hold a news conference featuring Ms. Decker at 1 p.m., today, Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, on the fourth floor of the Picciano Building at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City. If you plan to attend, please contact Jon Tooley, UHS Community Relations, at 607-762-2336.

The nationally televised 123rd Rose Parade will be held on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, starting at 11 a.m. (EST). The 98th Rose Bowl football game will be held in Pasadena the same day.

Ms. Decker will be riding in memory of her son, Seth Decker, who died at UHS Wilson in 2005 and whose organs were donated to six other people.
