Families who made the selfless decision to donate the organs of loved ones who died in the past year at Providence Tarzana, Providence Saint Joseph and Providence Holy Cross medical centers will be honored in a touching ceremony Tuesday.
Providence Tarzana will host OneLegacy, the nonprofit organization that facilitates organ and tissue procurement in Southern California for transplant, at its annual Rose Dedication.
Families will be invited to write personal notes to those they have lost, messages that will be put in vials to be filled with flowers for placement on OneLegacy’s Tournament of Roses parade float.
Along with the tributes to be offered, an organ recipient will speak to those gathered. The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium at Providence Tarzana Medical Center, 18321 Clark St., Tarzana.
Roses representing these families will be placed on OneLegacy’s Donate Life’s float in the Jan. 2 parade. Each of the dedicated roses will carry a personal message of love and remembrance from people across the nation who have been touched by organ and tissue donation.
