Spain achieved a new record of transplants: almost one hundred in three days

Spain continues to give example of how you can save lives with an active transplant policy and one increasing population awareness. In the last hours the national organization of transplant (ONT) has recorded a new record of activity. Nearly a hundred transplants has been made in three days.

Specifically, according to figures from the ONT, they have been 94 transplants, from 39 donor and 42 hospitals involved in 72 hours, from 23 to 25 November last.The previous record of the ONT for organ donation and transplantation in Spain, relating to the activity in 24 hours, was recorded in March 2009, with 32 transplants, from 13 donors and 23 hospitals in 8 autonomous communities.On this occasion, have been able to be 53 kidney transplants, 23 of liver, 8 Lung (4 of them bipulmonares and 1 double lung and heart), heart 6, 3 of pancreas and one bowel.
