ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)— There was a special St. Louis tie to the 123rd annual Tournament of Roses Parade Monday morning. A float that celebrated families who chose to save a life when a loved one lost theirs, memorialized more than one local donor.
As Merry Smith watched the parade from her couch in Manchester, she felt like pieces of her passed by. The parade is known for its remarkable floral displays: entire floats made of flowers. But perhaps the most touching float of them all was the Donate Life float. It features pictures, called florographs, of people who passed on, but live on, because their families donated their organs.
