Gift of Life Donor Program
On January 10, 2012, Gift of Life Donor Program and The Hospital of University of Pennsylvania joined forces to educate ministry leaders about organ and tissue donation. The presentation, entitled The Power of Giving: Organ and Tissue Donation, welcomed over 60 ministry leaders from multiple faiths, whospent the afternoon discussing the importance of donation awareness.
The presentation featured two personal donation perspectives, showing how organ and tissue donation affects multiple lives. Maureen Fleagle shared her story as a donor mother, and her journey through the donation experience after her son passed away. Heart recipient Janet Dennis shared her personal experience of being on the receiving side of donation, along with how her live dramatically changed after her transplant.
