Donation Awareness Blooms at 2012 Rose Parade

Gift of Life Donor Program

Donate Life America kicked off 2012 in a huge way by promoting organ donation in the 123rd Annual Tournament of Roses Parade, on Monday, January 2.
Alex Rodriguez, brother of donor Paco Rodriguez, and heart recipient Alexis Sloan

The parade, themed “Just Imagine,” featured 44 floats, including the Donate Life Rose Parade float titled, “…One More Day.”

28 riders from around the country waved to not only the crowds who came out to watch the parade, but to over 40 million television viewers nationally. Six floral clocks featured floragraphs of donors who were able to help others have a new lease on life. Boxer Paco Rodriguez and local donor Melissa Yarosh were two of the 72 floragraphs featured on the float.
