Kearney Hub, Nebraska | Gisel Theis
Letter to the Editor:
Recently I experienced an overwhelming and unbelievable goodness in so many people. On Dec. 14 I received a kidney transplant from my lifelong friend, Sally Wegner. Not only did her selfless gift save my life, but the outpouring of care, concern, kindness and prayer was, and remains to be, truly inspiring.
From family and friends to acquaintances and former strangers, people have been generous in so many ways. I have been humbled by this monumental experience and want to openly thank everyone. A simple hug, a meal, or a smile can mean so much while healing.
I also thank the Hub for the article written by Kim Schmidt, regarding our friendship and the transplant process, and commend her for sharing our story, which was another feature very well written.
