“You’ve already stolen our heart, what’s one more organ?”
These are the words Claire Neal heard when she found out her cousin Peter would give her the best gift anyone could - a kidney.
Mum-of-two Claire has kidney failure and her health has gone downhill since her diagnosis 18 months ago.
“I just cried when Peter said that”, said Claire, 35.
Now, she is looking forward to the future and wants to raise awareness about how important organ donation is.
Claire, who lives in Ingleby Barwick with husband Rob, 33, Hannah, five, and Liam, 16, said: “I am looking forward to taking my daughter to the park and being able to do things others may take for granted.
