The Newark Advocate | Anna Sudar
NEWARK -- Friday was a typical day at the Wright house.
Sliding across their hardwood living room floor, Haiden Wright, 5, and his brother, Elijah Wright, 3, raced their toy monster trucks across the room before starting an epic Nerf gun battle.
As Haiden jumped onto the couch and climbed on top of her, Brittani Wright smiled at her son's constant energy.
Five years ago, seeing Haiden jump and run and play would have been difficult to imagine.
The Newark boy was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a defect in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. He had a heart transplant when he was six months old, saving his life.
