No Bieber tweets for sick Ottawa woman

Justin Bieber didn’t end up tweeting about organ-donation Thursday as Hélène Campbell had hoped, but she said she is still surprised at the support she got from everyone else who did. 

 
Her friends unleashed a Twitter campaign to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.
Twitter users posted messages with #BeAnOrganDonor and a link to beadonor.ca to sign up for organ donation.

 
“I’m just amazed at the outcome, that people took the initiative to do this,” Campbell said from Toronto. “It was super encouraging to see people rally for a cause like that.” 

Campbell said messages were sent from people as far away as Spain and California. Mayor Jim Watson, the Ottawa 67s and Justin Beieber’s guitarist Dan Kanter participated in the online campaign, too. 

 
A few people said tweeted that they registered for organ donation.
