Scottish Liver Transplant Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh marks 1000th procedure since 1992.
A liver transplant patient has urged people to join the organ donor register as the hospital which treated him marked its 1000th transplant operation.
Fraser Sneddon, 25, has become the 1000th person to undergo a liver transplant at the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) since it opened in 1992.
The RIE kidney transplant service has reached the same milestone after Lesley Ross, 49, received a kidney from her brother.
