Alvaro Rojas-Pena, M.D., research investigator, Department of Surgery, was recently awarded a prize for the best paper presented at the International Society for Organ Donation and Procurement.
The international meeting was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dr. Rojas’ work and presentation on “Extracorporeal Support to Retrieve Abdominal Organs after Cardiac Death” was voted the best of 900 submissions for this honor. Co-authors were Dr. Rojas’ colleagues, Robert Bartlett, professor of surgery emeritus and Jeffrey Punch, professor of surgery and director of Transplantation.
