Why you Should Become an Organ Donor

Northwest Medical Center

Did you know that February 14 is National Donor Day? Many have considered the idea of becoming an organ donor but have not taken the steps to finally register. While thinking of your special someone this Valentine’s Day, take a quick moment to think of the lives you could change just by registering online.

The Facts
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that over 100,000 Americans are currently in need of organ and tissue transplants and approximately 18 people will die each day waiting for an organ. Every 11 minutes, a new patient in need of an organ transplant is added to the waiting list.
