JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- David Hines was a man known for his generous heart and compassionate spirit. He was a father, a friend...and a big supporter of local causes.
"If he had a dollar left on his pocket and he knew somebody needed that dollar, he would give it to them and not eat that night. That's how my father was," daughter Christine said.
Hines was a procurement technician for the Mayo Clinic. He was on an organ transplant run back in December when his helicopter went down, killing him and the other two passengers on board. In his honor, his kids are raising money for The Katie Caple Foundation, which he often donated to.
