Throughout our country, more than 113,000 people await a life-saving organ donation. 20 of those lives are lost every day. This is an intolerable situation which must be corrected. The National Living Organ Donors Foundation and Executive Director Harry Kiernan plan to do just that. Harry, who has twice made altruistic organ donations, plans to raise national awareness to this great need with The Walk of 2012.
Harry will commence The Walk on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from the Foundation’s offices in Glastonbury, CT, proceeding to Hartford Hospital. Following ceremonies there, he will continue on foot to Yale/New Haven Hospital, and more ceremonies. Harry will then set forth to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville and St. Louis. With over 1,200 miles completed, Harry will continue The Walk through Kansas City, Topeka, Denver, and Las Vegas, ending at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, the first week of July, 2012.
