ANNAPOLIS Members of the Eastern Shore Delegation were updated Friday on the activities of three non-profit organizations that aggregately impact Shore residents from birth to death and beyond.
Karen Kennedy, a special projects manager for the Living Legacy Foundation, and Dr. Brian Childs, director of ethics and spiritual care for Shore Health System, spoke to Eastern Shore legislators about the non-profit's efforts to procure and promote organ and tissue donations in Maryland.According to the foundation, nearly 2,500 people in Maryland are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. The legislators were impressed by the level of participation in the donation program by residents of the Eastern Shore.
