April is National Donate Life Month
It highlights the importance of organ and tissue donations.
On Thursday, they raised the Donate Life Flag in front of Holyoke City Hall.
The flag campaign is sponsored locally by LifeChoice Donor Services, the federally designated non-profit organ procurement organization serving Connecticut and Massachusetts.
The flag will fly in April during National Donate Life month.
It honors residents who have been touched by organ and tissue donations like 14-year old Ardazan Dennis of Holyoke who underwent a heart transplant operation 4 years ago,” I feel fine today, I never got to play soccer, basketball and any sport before, can you play now, yes, which one are you better at, soccer,” says Ardazan Dennis.
Ardazan’s mom, Jessica Dennis, says the need for organ transplants is critical, “ There’s such a need out there for kids, adults, babies, they’re just waiting for an extra life and they need this chance to live and show the world, what they’re here for,” says Jessica Dennis.
