RALEIGH — April is National Donate Life Month, and the state of North Carolina is hoping to surpass last year’s record of 4 million registered organ donors, the sixth-largest such state registry in the nation.
The latest proposal to boost organ and eye donor awareness is a Donate Life license plate. At least 300 people need to sign up for the plates, which costs $20 above regular fees, before the Department of Transportation will start producing them.
The funds will be designated to help pay expenses incurred by needy North Carolina families related to organ donation and transplantation. Learn more or order a plate atwww.donatelifenc.org.
