Ella Peterson is a wife, mother and grandmother who will celebrate her 60th birthday next year.
But every day she celebrates the three years she's been alive thanks to her donated liver.
"It was like up and down. I'd get better, than I'd get worse," Peterson said.
Peterson doesn't know when, but she contracted Hepatitis-C, probably from a blood transfusion, which led to the development of cirrhosis in her liver.
Peterson was sick on and off for 10 years, but was only on the National Waiting List for 30 days. She said she's fortunate because livers are the second most-needed organ.
All Peterson knows about her donor is that it was a woman.
She said she's remained relatively healthy since the surgery.
