Rowan University Public Relations Student Society of America hosts Organ Donor Awareness Day

The Gloucester County Times | Jessica Driscoll
Rachel Dunn had a heart transplant when she was seven-years- old, and now she works as a volunteer for the Gift of Life Donor Program.

“Gift of Life personally affected my life, and it’s a really good cause,” said Dunn, a Rowan University sophomore from Haddon Heights. “Students our age are not always as informed as they should be about organ donation, so it’s a good idea to talk to them in their own space and allow them to make their own decisions.”

Dunn was one of many students participating in the Rowan University Public Relations Student Society of America 19th annual Organ Donor Awareness Day on Monday.

Thousands of students, faculty and staff members participated in the day’s activities, which included guest speakers, organ donation-related games and information booths, live entertainment and giveaways.
