Sister raise flag for their mother

BEMIDJI – The flag that two sisters raised in memory of their mother immediately began waving Wednesday in the wind.

“Mom’s probably talking,” quipped Donna Liend.

Liend and her sister, Lynda Moe, raised the Donate Life flag Wednesday afternoon outside of Sanford Bemidji Medical Center. The flag will fly throughout April.

The hospital joined others across the nation as it took part in Flags Across America, an initiative to honor and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of donors and recipients whose lives have been affected by organ, eye and tissue donation.
