St. David's to host special organ donation event .

Have you ever thought about becoming a donor? Right now in America, about 113,000 people are on the waiting list for an organ. That includes more than 8,700 Texans waiting for kidneys.

April is National Donate Life Month and St. David's has a special event planned to educate people about the need for organs and the transplant process.

Director of the Kidney Transplant Center at St. David's North Austin Medical Center James Pittman spoke to KVUE about how Texas is doing when it comes to organ donations.
