MEIERS CORNERS -- Amanda Sue Forsyth was only 16 when she was tragically killed on June 13, 2006.
The Meiers Corners teen, a promising athlete, was struck by a car as she and three friends crossed Richmond Avenue in New Springville, after leaving a friend’s Sweet 16 party. Amanda’s family donated her organs to help others live. Amanda’s gift of life made it possible for seven people to continue theirs and in this spirit, her family wishes to continue her legacy.
Amanda’s life and her legacy were recalled on Friday during a ceremony unveiling a street sign that renames the corner of Brielle Avenue and Gansvoort Boulevard as “Amanda Sue Forsyth Gift of Life Way.”
