Anytime Fitness Franchisee Donates Kidney to Member

Club Industry
Both the co-owner of an Anytime Fitness and one of the members of her club are recovering after successful kidney transplant surgery last week.

Radley West, who co-owns the Anytime Fitness in Irmo, SC, with her husband, Andrew, agreed to donate one of her kidneys to one of the club’s members, Ryan Brooke.

The kidney transplant surgery took place last Wednesday at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Health Sciences University, Augusta, GA.

Anytime Fitness spokesperson Mark Daly said this morning that Radley West is back home following a vacation with family and friends. Brooke is out of the hospital but will remain in Augusta for another few days undergoing additional tests before returning home.

Both West and Brooke have been providing updates and photos of their progress on Facebook.

TV station WECT in Wilmington, NC, reported that Brooke, 33, had been on dialysis. When the Wests began to explore the idea of organ donation, they found out that Radley was a match for Brooke.
