Some 144 golfers and 225 banquet participants raised $40,000 during Brooke's Big Heart golf tournament and banquet at Mission Viejo Country Club this month. The funds will go to Brooke's Big Heart Foundation, the OneLegacy organization and the Balck family of Ladera Ranch to help with its mounting medical bills after 2-year-old Brooke Balck had a heart transplant last year. Tournament co-chairmen were John Paulsen and Todd Emerson.
"Overall it was a huge success," Brooke's dad, Chris Balc, said." It was a great celebration of Brooke's successful transplant and we were able to spread the word on the importance of organ donation."
