California 'Heart Buddies' share their wonderful story

California Transplant Donor Network

Bay Area Residents Tune into KPFA 94.1 FM on Saturday at 11 p.m.

Anthony Robinson (right), CTDN’s 2012 Rose Parade Donate Life float rider, and Keith Ivy of Sacramento will be interviewed.

The two men share a wonderful story. As Keith tells it, both were waiting at Stanford Medical Center and Clinics for a lifesaving heart transplant. “He was down the hall from me.”

Keith received his heart on Feb. 24, 2010. Keith says one day Anthony woke up and “I wasn’t there.” As Keith recuperated, Anthony waited. Then, on Mother’s Day 2010, Anthony received his new heart.

Now fast friends – both are committed to the cause of making sure more people know how organ donation really does save lives. Keith is an ambassador Sierra Donor Services in the Sacramento area while Anthony works tirelessly as a CTDN Donate Life Ambassador.

Listen to “Bajaba Ear Thyme” on Saturday at 11 p.m. as the two men describe their journey to radio show host Afrikahn Jahmal Dayvs.
