ANSONIA — Resident Paul Lucuk, who has no biological siblings, says he now has a “little sister.”
He and his longtime friend and neighbor, Kristie Kennedy, will soon have more than friendship in common.
That’s because Lucuk, 51, suffers from Stage 5 chronic kidney disease and Kennedy, 40, is giving him one of her kidneys.
The surgery is scheduled for May 17 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Lucuk was smiling broadly Tuesday night as he looked across his living room at the woman who is donating the lifesaving organ to him.
