KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Facebook, the world's largest social networking website, is launching a new initiative in hopes of saving lives.
The site is now offering a feature to allow users to identify themselves as organ donors. If you're not registered, it also lets users sign up in the states where they live.
Lewis Burton, of Knoxville, was excited when he heard about the new initiative. In 2001, he had a kidney transplant after both his kidneys failed.
"To get a second chance at life, it's an extraordinary gift," said Burton. "It's an extraordinary gift to get."
