A 5k run was held Saturday morning in honor of Nichole Hardcastle, who lost her battle with cystic fibrosis on December 4th. Allison Kuhns was in charge of the event.
"We're doing it in memory of Nichole Hardcastle. She lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis on December 4th and she was up for double lung transplant so we wanted to do something that honored her and her memory and we talked about doing it before she got so sick but we weren't able to because she had passed. But we're wanting to raise money to donate life and raise awareness about organ donation. We've got tables for people to sign up who aren't organ donors to get them registered to be organ donors and to donate money for donate life to help spread the word," said Kuhns.
"We're going to be doing all types of different events. We actually started a foundation called the Nichole Hardcastle Foundation. We're a non-profit organization and we have a website. You can go on there and make donations and were going to actually hold other events to help people who have cystic fibrosis. It's what our goal is through the years. And for a while now hopefully anybody that needs anything hopefully we'll be able to have events and help them raise money towards their cause," Kuhn explained.
