HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- After waiting 166 days for a lifesaving transplant, 24-year-old Colby Salerno now has a new heart.

News 8's Jocelyn Maminta first met the young man from Cheshire back in January.

A rare disease had weakened his heart and Colby was forced to live in the cardiac ICU at Hartford Hospital while he waited for a donor.

Then on Tuesday morning, a posting on the "Have a Heart for Colby" Facebook page indicated that a match had been found and Colby was headed into surgery to receive his new heart.
