Saline Memorial Hospital Joins Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign

Saline Memorial News
Saline Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that we have joined the Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign as a Hospital Partner. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, the campaign brings together National Partners, regional and local organ, eye, and tissue donation organizations, and their “Hospital Partners” to educate hospital communities on the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation. The numbers below emphasize exactly how important organ donations are:

111,000: Approximate number of people on the national transplant waiting list
18: Average number of people on the waiting list who will die today
78: Average number of people on the waiting list who will receive a life-saving organ transplant today
8: Number of lives one organ donor could save
1,219 days: Median time to transplant for a kidney for the most recent year

In light of this campaign, The Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency visited SMH last week to help create awareness and promote the program, as well as sign up new donors. To learn more about donation and to register as a donor, please visit www.organdonor.gov.
