STURGEON FALLS – Dan Stevens of Northern Secondary School in Sturgeon Falls said the organ donation awareness project the school was involved in on April 30, had an impact on more than 50 students who pledged to sign up.

Cynthia Dèsormiers, CEO of the West Nipissing General Hospital, who attended the Torch of Life event, said the hospital supports organ donations. She said staff regularly remove (harvest) eyes for organ donation. This procedure is done by the physicians and nurses.
