4th Brunswick student dies, as neighbors near crash site say greater precautions needed (video)

The Cleveland Plain Dealer | John Caniglia
BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- A fourth Brunswick High School student has died from a Sunday morning crash at a steep railroad crossing that has worried neighbors for years.

Kevin Fox's family released a statement Monday morning about the 18-year-old's death. Three other passengers -- Jeffrey Chaya, 18, Blake Bartchak, 17, and Lexi Poerner, 16, -- died Sunday. The one-car accident came about 13 hours before Jeffrey and Kevin would have graduated.

Meanwhile, Lifebanc issued a statement Tuesday saying that the Fox family had agreed to donate Kevin Fox's organs.

“The car accident in Brunswick is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families as well as the entire community of Brunswick,” says Gordon Bowen, Lifebanc Chief Executive Officer. “We feel privileged to honor the wishes of Kevin Fox to give the Gift of Life during this
most tragic time.”

The organization said it is working with the Fox family and The MetroHealth System "to make every effort in honoring Kevin’s last wish of organ, eye and tissue donation as well as respect their privacy during this difficult time."
