Two Hampshire firefighters have covered the distance of 11 marathons in 11 days to raise awareness of organ donation.

Stuart Vince, 36, and Phil Jackson, 45, ran from Portsmouth to Land's End before making the return journey by kayak, on foot and bike.

The pair started the 260-mile trip on 20 May from the Queen's Alexander Hospital, Portsmouth.

Mr Vince organised the challenge after saving a friend's life by donating one of his own kidneys last year.'Highs and lows'

Bad weather forced them to abandoned their planned return trip by sea from in Plymouth; instead the pair ran and cycled back.

The final leg into Portsmouth was completed in windy conditions shortly after 15:00 BST.
