JACKSON, MI -- A Jackson man and his daughter are spending Father's Day celebrating a unique and uncommon bond that has brought them even closer together.

Steve Dobson, 66, of Jackson and his daughter, Cathy Tabor, 43, of Belleville, both underwent kidney surgery on the same day, at the same hospital: Tabor was donating her kidney, while Dobson was receiving one from a separate donor match through the University of Michigan Health System's Paired Kidney Donation Program.
