(Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Northland's NewsCenter will be tracking the progress of former St. Scholastica hockey player Daman Milsom and Kibby Evans as they bike across Canada, all in an effort to raise money and awareness for organ transplants.
Pictures and updates will be posted here as they come in from the pair's trek across Canada, which will span three months and 5,600 miles.
The goal is to raise $50,000 and encourage 10,000 new people to become organ donors. The money raised will be donated to the Transplant Research Foundation of British Columbia, but Milsom notes the research will help people across the world.
The two had always wanted to bike across Canada, but came up with the idea of "Trekking 4 Transplants" when Evans' father was in need of and received a liver transplant.
Milsom was a four-year player for the St. Scholastica hockey team, appearing in 107 games during his career. He scored two goals and had 12 assists in that time, but he the bike ride will be entirely new to his athletic repertoire.
