Be a donor: The first Donate Life Nebraska Trail Run and Heroes Walk to inspire organ, eye and tissue donation will begin at 8 a.m. July 21 at Tranquility Park, 12222 West Maple Road.
The event includes a 5K trail run and a 1.2-mile Heroes Walk to honor donor families who have given organs, eyes and tissue of loved ones to benefit those in need. One donor can save eight lives, restore sight to two people and help heal another 50.
Donate Life Nebraska is organizing the event.
All participants in the walk/run are asked to register online at active.com/ then enter Omaha, NE and choose Donate Life. Registration fees are $15 for children 3-10, $35 for older than 10, $30 for a transplant recipient and $30 for a donor family member.
