THE widower of a brave woman who suffered from a heart condition will be scaling Snowdon in her memory on what would have been her 29th birthday.
Aaron Mansell will be joined by his late wife Donna’s friends Leah Biggs and Rhys Llewellyn, who have recently had heart transplants, for the gruelling challenge on Saturday.
The date also marks the second anniversary of Donna’s Dream – an organ donation campaign set up by Mr Mansell in his wife’s memory.
The mother of one, who had two heart transplants, suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy – a weakening of the heart muscle – and died in 2010 aged 26, following a collapse.
She was in need of a third heart transplant.
The trio will be trekking to the top of the Welsh mountain to raise cash for the British Heart Foundation and Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital –where Miss Biggs, 24, and Mr Llewellyn, 26, were under the same transplant team as Mrs Mansell – and have already collected £4,000.
