Social media brings organ donor crisis home - Australia

''I think the only place I don't tweet is church, and sometimes that might be a good idea mightn't it?'' Ann Cahill Lambert laughs as she envisages publishing live critiques of Sunday sermons on the internet.

Ms Cahill Lambert, of Lyneham, fought a high-profile battle a few years ago for access to public funding for life-saving medical oxygen.

One of the latest campaigns she has allied herself with is the fight to raise public awareness of, and support for, organ and tissue donation.

It is a campaign being played out in part using the social network sites Facebook and Twitter to capture the attention of young people.
