WILLIAM Chapman desperately needs a heart and double lung transplant.
But instead of just waiting, the 20-year-old and his family are actively trying to spread the word about the need for organ donation rates to improve in Australia.
William suffers from a heart and lung condition which may prove terminal if he does not receive donated organs.
His sister Eleanor, a fifth year medical student, is working with the Student Ambassadors and Volunteers for Organ Donation (SAV'D) to raise awareness about organ donation.
Ms Chapman, 25, helped organise the Having a Heart to Heart public forum, which runs tonight from 5.30pm at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, to help educate young people about organ donation and why they should register as organ donors.
