Twenty six Irish athletes who’ve had organ transplants are off to Croatia today, for the European Transplant and Dialysis Games.
They’re the biggest team taking part in the games, which involves over 300 athletes from 28 countries, and Team captain Harry Ward says they’re hoping to follow in the footsteps of our successful Irish athletes at the London Olympics.
Team members have received organ transplants, like liver, kidney and pancreas, while some are on dialysis.
