Now, the 27-year-old from Port Huron is planning to walk across the state.
Bailey, who had a lung transplant 14 months ago, will walk — and at times, run — from Lexington to Muskegon starting Friday. The 214-mile trek is to raise money and awareness for Gift of Life — Michigan’s organ and tissue donation program — and the battle against cystic fibrosis.
“I came up with the idea because I wanted to give back,” he said. “Right before my transplant, I could remember being barely able to breathe after going to grab the remote across the room.
