TOOWOOMBA fathers could not have asked for a better day to be pampered and praised as the beautiful spring sunshine bathed the Garden City.
Families filled the city's parks and gardens for picnics and barbecues while dads from all walks of life took the chance to relax with a cold beer or a snag straight off the grill.
David Bradford and his family stopped off at Newtown Park on their way from Brisbane to the Bunya Mountains to enjoy some lunch underneath the sprawling jacarandas.
His son Matthew was visibly delighted to be spending the day with his dad.
Other families enjoyed the morning by getting out and getting a little bit of fitness, all in the name of a good cause.
The Toowoomba Hospital Renal Unit, Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and Kidney Health Australia joined forces for the Big Red Walk to raise awareness of kidney health.
